Tokyo Dolls x Tokyo Fashion Party Week at Le Baron
A few days ago, we reported on the opening of Le Baron’s Tokyo Fashion Party Week. Now it’s time to bring you a report from the closing bash. After four nights of non-stop music, fashion, friends, and fun, the grand finale featured a decidedly punk rock vibe.
The Japanese fashion designers supporting this party included MUG from G.V.G.V, Hikaru from Bounty Hunter, Arashi Yanagawa from John Lawrence Sullivan, and Komatsu from blackmeans. Blackmeans is well-known in Tokyo’s rock/punk scene for their collections of high quality 70s inspired leather jackets, often shredded and studded to the extreme. Hikaru Iwanaga from Bounty Hunter is also a longtime devotee of the 1970s punk scene. You won’t have to look very hard at our photos from the party to see the punk influences in the fashion on display.
As for the music – Komatsu & Aoki from blackmeans played a live guitar set. Various fashion-friendly DJs spun all night – including Shoji (London Nite), Soft&Hard (G.V.G.V./Bijou), Takeshi Kitazawa (DressedUndressed), Yo Strummer (G.V.G.V.), The Tarmans (Cannabis), Black Riot (Valentine), and Ug (Cyderhouse).
