MODA// H&M Partywear 2011 collection
Playsuits have come and gone in a faddish way throughout the past five years or more, but for spring 2011 both the playsuit and jumpsuit have gone beyond being either in or out; the trend has carried over, but will either work or fail based on the quality and uniqueness of the pieces you choose. That's largely a matter of what works for you: but a piece like Opening Ceremony's ruffle onesi - with its gathered fabric, cinched waist, and steely grey colour - is one I can only imagine as a worthwhile investment piece. Turn it into a simple summer staple with sandals, or as a night-time statement piece with heels, a belt, and lashings of jewellery.
Available from Freudian Kicks.
Paris in October introduced us to Petar Petrov's second women's collection. We became good friends straight away, the strong rust color for SS11 was the initial attraction, but we soon realized that the fit was a perfect match for us as well.
Petar Petrov makes wearable casual clothing with high-end materials. His clothes are young in spirit and have that pared down architectural vibe that designers form Netherlands, Scandinavia or Belgium create. The Bulgarian born designer showcases his collections in Paris. In AW10 he added an amazing women's line, following the same principals. SS11 is sporty, clean and in beautiful fabrics. The leather pieces and details are in the softest suede leather available.
