CANNES REPORT CAVIN CLIENT CELERATE
: )
Here’s one solution to your weekday office doldrums: scrolling through the dazzling photos from the Cannes Film Festival. The silver screen elite have descended upon the famed Croisette and along with floaty layers of chiffon, daubs of Swarovski crystals and bronzed swaths of skin, there’s their veritable star power to contend with.
Calvin Klein is one American fashion house tapping into the French Riviera meets Hollywood glamour. The minimalist chic brand celebrated women in independent film with a splashy fete last Thursday. Hosted by Joana Vicente, Executive Director of the Independent Film Project, and Francisco Costa, women’s creative director of Calvin Klein collection, the soiree boasted a who’s who power list of female directors, actresses and producers.
From the established contingent, Uma Thurman, a festival juror this year, exuded her golden glow in a black cap-sleeved, floor length Calvin Klein number, while Meredith Vieira took a break away from the Today show (where she is ending her run this year). Calvin Klein Euphoria face Natalia Vodianova flaunted her genetically blessed assets; the baby-faced model wore a Calvin Klein collection halter dress in white. And the up-and-comers were in good supply too. Jane Eyre lead Mia Wasikowska, Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens and Clemence Poesy (for a French touch) all made the rounds.
(One beauty note we’ll be filing away for the summer season ahead were the long and loose waves spotted on nearly every cinema starlet. It streamlines the get-ready routine anyway.)
And if you were one of the few men in the crowd, ahem David Walliams, surely it can’t hurt to have a supermodel stunner (wife and Calvin Klein collection model Lara Stone) on your arm.
