The Preppy Handbook 2010.

Famed American menswear designer Thom Browne unveiled his first womens wear collection and unsurprisingly, it's full of looks based on menswear. In fact, it's based on his last menswear collection. There's nothing wrong with menswear-inspired womenswear, but it's almost too expected coming from Browne, who described the line as “Good, all-American menswear influence, but fitting in a cool feminine way.”

The Browne penchant for wittiness and irreverence is on full display here and some of the pieces are quite pretty. We say "pieces," because frankly, the styling here puzzles us. Those skirt-over-skirt looks... are they two separate pieces? Because if so, great. If they're not, then they're one big clumsy-looking piece and that's a bit hard to get behind. You have to really like the preppy look to consider these pieces, which aren't preppy-lite (like most prep-inspired fashion), but full-on country club/prep school uniforms just slightly updated and made a little modern. To be perfectly blunt, it's nowhere near as interesting as his menswear.
