I wish with each and every fiber of my being that additional online stores stocked old-fashioned luxury bags. There’s something that I come across so alluring about old-fashioned – a lot of it, particularly those items made by luxury houses, has the feel of true exclusivity that even most high-end bags are missing nowadays.
Most of us know that practically everything we obtain is created in factories, not by a talented artisan that cares about his work, and that makes luxurious goods a bit less fun. With classic, no less than we can pretend that it was produced by a guy named Francois in a picturesque workshop, diligently sewing bags although wearing a beret and smoking a hand-rolled cigarette. Or at the very least that’s what happens in my head. Perhaps Francois had a hand within the lovely Chanel Retro Speedy Bag? I bet no 1 can prove to me that he didn’t – it’s old-fashioned, after all.

This is not your average vintage Chanel bag – classic flaps are fairly easy to locate at high-end vintage shops and, if you have nerves of steel, on eBay, but styles that were only produced for a short period of time and do not have the “iconic” status of a flap bag are what actually intrigue me. I especially like the big metal pieces on the ends and that this bag uses a specially woven leather to mimic the brand’s trademark quilts – the details go a lengthy way inside a vintage piece. I don’t know if I’d pay the premium for it, but in case you want a Chanel bag that you’ll probably never see on any person else, something like this is right up your alley. Buy by means of ShopBop for $4180

Blake Lively was seen outside a photo shoot in New York’s East Side neighborhood last Friday. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the beautiful actress was sporting a “Key to the Cure” T-shirt. The Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive was designed by Donna Karen and 100% of the profits are to benefit women cancer charities. She matched this feminine T-shirt with a boyfriend cardigan. Lovely! But what truly caught my attention, naturally, was the stunning purse hanging from her arm. It’s her Chanel Bubble Quilt Accordion Flap Bag!
This isn’t, even so, the initial time Blake has been observed carrying this bag. In fact, she has been noticed carrying it many times over the past couple of years. It need to be one of her favorites! But who could blame her? The Chanel Bubble Quilt Accordion Flap bag is completely gorgeous! The puffy quilting appears to be so squishy and scrumptious, just begging to be squeezed! I really like the gathered sides and flap closure, they give this bag a look that is both classic and modern. And, needless to say, it wouldn’t be a Chanel bag without the gorgeous chain straps! Unfortunately, this distinctive collection has long been discontinued. But it isn’t too late to buy a pre-loved piece!
